Kitchen Remodeling and Custom Cabinets in Wildomar

Built in our shop, fitted to your kitchen

If you are planning a kitchen remodel in Wildomar, the cabinets are the biggest decision you will make. We design custom cabinets to your exact walls, build them from cabinet-grade plywood in our Murrieta shop, and install them with our own crew.

Why store cabinets give out early

You open the sink cabinet and the bottom has gone soft and puffy. Or a door hangs crooked no matter how often you tighten the hinge. That is usually particle board, which soaks up water at every cut edge and slowly loses its grip on screws.

We build every cabinet box from cabinet-grade plywood with solid hardwood face frames. Drawers are dovetailed and face frames are joined with mortise and tenon joints, which lock the frame together so it stays square. Slides and hinges are Blum soft close hardware, backed by Blum's lifetime warranty.

The finish is a catalyzed conversion varnish. It cures into a hard, sealed coat that handles cooking grease and daily wiping far better than house paint.

Custom cabinets built to your walls

If your current kitchen has odd gaps or skinny filler panels, blame the sizing. Stock cabinets come in 3 inch steps, so a 47 inch wall gets a 45 inch box and a filler strip to hide the gap. Across a whole kitchen, those strips add up to storage you paid for and cannot use.

We measure your kitchen and build each cabinet to within a sixteenth of an inch. Before anything gets cut, you see a 3D rendering of the finished room. That is the time to move the island, widen a drawer stack or change a door style, while changes cost nothing. Here is more on how we build custom kitchen cabinets.

A tip if your kitchen opens to the family room:

When people can see the kitchen from the couch, the back and ends of the island are on display. Ask for finished end panels and a finished toe kick instead of bare cabinet backs. Every side you can see from the living room should look like the front.

What kitchen remodeling in Wildomar costs

Most people want a number before they want a design, and that is fair. Custom cabinets run about $500 to $1,200 per linear foot. Complex designs with lots of drawers, glass doors or tall pantry units can pass $1,500 per foot.

Three things move the price: the wood and finish you pick, how many drawers and inserts you want, and how complicated the layout is. Countertops are priced on their own. We also install granite countertops, so the cabinets and tops come from one team on one schedule. See what a full kitchen remodel with us includes, or call (951) 973-1265 for a price range on your kitchen.

Who builds it and who shows up

A lot of remodel worry comes down to strangers in your house and nobody picking up when something is wrong. Our own employees build your cabinets in our Murrieta shop and install them in your home. We never hand the cabinet work to subcontractors.

The crew is Diego Macias's, and it is the same team on every job. First Class WoodWorks holds California contractor license #1103734, which you can look up with the Contractors State License Board before you call. If you only need new cabinets and not a full remodel, our page for a cabinet maker in Wildomar covers that.

How a project runs

You should know what happens next at every stage, because not knowing is what makes a remodel feel endless. Ours runs in four steps. First, we come to your home, measure the kitchen and talk through how you cook and what you need to store.

Next, we draw the kitchen in 3D and adjust it until you approve it. Then we build the cabinets in our shop. Last, our crew installs them with HEPA dust extraction running and your floors covered. From design approval to installation, most projects take 8 to 12 weeks.

Bathrooms, closets and built-ins

Maybe the bathroom or the closet bothers you as much as the kitchen. The same shop builds custom bathroom vanities and closet built-ins for Wildomar homes, plus entertainment centers and fireplace surrounds. A vanity typically runs $400 to $3,000 for the unit, plus $200 to $1,000 to install.

Built-ins and entertainment centers usually land between $1,200 and $4,000. Large pieces with several sections can pass $11,000. Every one gets the same plywood boxes, Blum hardware and conversion varnish as our kitchens.

Questions before you call

You probably have a few of these on your mind already. Here are straight answers on scope, timing, budget, mess and who does the work.

Do you remodel the whole kitchen or only build the cabinets?

We handle the cabinets, the finish carpentry around them, and granite countertops, so those pieces come from one team on one schedule. Our own crew builds and installs all of the cabinet work, with no subcontractors. If your remodel also touches plumbing, electrical or flooring, mention it on the first call and we will talk through how that part gets handled.

How far ahead should I call if I want the kitchen done by a certain date?

Plan on at least three months. Most projects take 8 to 12 weeks from design approval to installation, and design approval takes as many rounds of 3D changes as you want. If you have a holiday, a family visit or a home sale in mind, tell us the date on the first call so we can tell you plainly whether it is realistic.

How do I get a rough budget for custom cabinets before anyone visits?

Measure the total length of your cabinet runs in feet and multiply by $500 to $1,200. That gives you a rough starting range for the cabinets alone, before countertops. Lots of drawers, tall pantry units or a big island push you toward the top of that range or past it. We give you a real number after we measure the room.

Will there be sawdust all over my house?

No. The cutting and assembly happen in our Murrieta shop, not in your kitchen, so what arrives at your house is finished cabinetry. During installation we run HEPA dust extraction, which pulls fine dust out of the air as we work, and we cover your floors and nearby surfaces before we start.

Who will actually be working in my house?

Our own employees, on Diego Macias's crew. The same team that builds your cabinets in the shop comes out to install them, so the people in your kitchen know every piece they are putting up. We never send subcontractors to do cabinet work. You can look up our license, CSLB #1103734, on the state licensing board's website any time.
